Pretty in Pink Shaker Kitchen in Lyndhurst

Project Overview

This project showcases a beautifully crafted, bespoke shaker kitchen designed and installed in Lyndhurst. The design blends classic shaker style with a contemporary twist, featuring a delightful colour palette and high-quality materials to create a warm, inviting, and highly functional space.

Below we will highlight the key design elements and materials used.

Modern Country Charm

The core concept was to create a kitchen that felt both timeless and fresh. The classic shaker door style, combined with the soft pink and ivory hues, evokes a sense of country charm, while modern appliances and sleek worktops introduce a contemporary edge. The design prioritizes both aesthetics and practicality, ensuring ample storage, efficient workflow, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Key Features & Materials

  • Door Style: Ashbury Shaker. This classic shaker design provides a clean, timeless look. The centre panel adds subtle depth and visual interest.

  • Door Colours: A delightful combination of Dust Pink and Ivory. The Dust Pink on the lower cabinets and tall unit adds a touch of playful sophistication, while the Ivory on the upper cabinets keeps the space feeling bright and airy. This two-tone approach is a key element of the kitchen’s unique character.

  • Cabinets: Constructed from durable Egger Oiled Kendal Oak, the cabinets provide a warm, natural foundation that complements the painted doors. This cabinetry colour was also used on the open shelving, wine rack and plate rack.

  • Handles: Our client had already chosen and purchased handles and knobs to be used on the kitchen.

  • Worktops: Classic Quartz Fiji. This high-quality 30mm quartz worktop offers exceptional durability, stain resistance, and a luxurious, polished finish. The light, neutral tone of the Fiji complements the pink and ivory cabinetry perfectly.

  • Sink: Villeroy & Boch Belfast Sink. The classic Belfast sink adds a touch of traditional elegance and provides a deep, practical washing area.
  • Tap: Franke Cotswold Polished Nickel Tap. The polished nickel finish of the tap adds a touch of sparkle and complements the traditional style of the sink.

  • Appliances:

    • Fridge Freezer: Miele KDN7724E. A seamlessly integrated fridge freezer that maintains the clean lines of the kitchen design.
    • Dishwasher: Customer’s Own Miele Freestanding Dishwasher.
    • Cooker: Customer’s own AGA. A classic AGA range cooker that serves as a focal point and adds to the country charm.
    • Wine Cooler: Caple Wi158. Single column wine cooler.
  • Special Features:

    • Plate Rack: A classic storage solution that adds visual interest and keeps frequently used plates easily accessible.
    • Open Shelving: Provides an opportunity to display decorative items and cookbooks, adding personality to the space.
    • Tongue and Groove (T&G) Panelling: Adds texture and a touch of traditional craftsmanship to the ends of the cabinetry.
    • Shaped Splashback: A bespoke detail that adds a unique, artistic touch behind the cooker and sink.
    • Bespoke Glazed Door: A unique request of using a stained glass section and integrate it as part of the cabinetry. We will take this one step further and backlight the unit to keep the flower bright.
    • Wine Rack: Integrated to the right of the fridge freezer, providing convenient storage for wine bottles and trays below.
    • LED Lighting: Under-cabinet, under worktop and in-cabinet LED lighting provides task lighting and ambient illumination, enhancing both functionality and atmosphere.
